In 2002, the most common phrase Nadine Ono heard from her friends was, "I'm pregnant." As the year wore on, she realized that she needed gifts for at least ten babies to be born in the coming months. Instead of buying mass-produced gifts at the local chain store, Nadine decided to make unique handmade blankets for each of the babies. Thus in 2003, La Loma Studios was born.

Nadine has found a way to combine her life-long love of sewing with the design sense she gained as a fashion publicist. Her clothing and room accessories reflect a modern style with touches from the past.

Since making those first ten blankets, the La Loma Studios line has grown to include smaller blankets dubbed Blankets "To Go," "Everything" cloths and clothing for boys and girls. All of the products are hand-made in the United States.
